Central Park Medical College
The Health and Education foundation was established after extensive consultations undertaken by a group of overseas Pakistani doctors from the United Kingdom led by Dr. Ahmad Tanvir Naqvi & Dr. Asif Abbas Naqvi, who wanted to contribute in medical education and medical service delivery in Pakistan. It was however recognized that in order to establish a workable organization one must have collaboration with a Pakistani based group. This came about in the form of Mr Mian Tahir Javed, Mr Riaz Chohan and Mr Ashfaq Mahmud Khan who are businessmen and Philanthropists. Further support came from a USA based educationist Mrs. Uzma Rafiq.
The joint efforts of Overseas Pakistani doctors and local Pakistani partners has resulted in Health and Education Foundation. The objective of the foundation is to bring excellence in medical education and service delivery in line with the developed world. The other aim is to consolidate the efforts of individuals and various organizations related with field of medicine within the UK who have been facing difficulty in finding forums in Pakistan. Health and Education Foundation will provide a platform where Pakistani experts in various fields of medicine and well established in medical fields in UK & other overseas countries can come on a regular basis to join and contribute their share in service delivery process. We will streamline their visits to Pakistan to maximize the impact of their contribution. The scope of the Foundation is to provide undergraduate, postgraduate, dental, nursing and Paramedic education, at par excellence in their respective specialties. Our first venture is the establishment of Central Park Medical College on Ferozepur Road, Lahore. We can take pride in fact that we have developed a purpose built Campus in 26 Acres of land in periphery of Lahore where extensive developments are already taking place. The campus promises to be one of the most beautiful and state of the art establishment. The Campus consists of Medical school building, girls and boys hostels with ample social services for the students and teachers. It has most up-to-date medical education center with modern Library equipped with online Journal facility. It has learning resource centre which will have network throughout the institution.
The aim of undergraduate education is to produce competent doctors who will have knowledge skills and the right attitude. In order to achieve this aim, Central Park Medical College has devised a progressive MBBS course which will deliver the curriculum which, while conforming to PMDC requirements, will have additional features like problem based learning, integrated learning and student selected modules.
Central Park Teaching Hospital, Lahore
The Central Park Teaching Hospital is located adjacent to college campus. It is 160 bedded hospital providing indoor and outdoor services in Medicine, Surgery, Gynae obs, Paediatrics, ENT & Eye. Deptt. of Anaesthesia, Radiology and Pathology are fully functioning. Round the clock emergency services are available. The extension in building is in progress and bed strength would be 200 in couple of months. The ultimate target is 650 beds in due course of time.
